SI USTED LLEVA EL CONTROL DE SU JUGADA PUEDE AHORRARSE MILES DE BOLIVARES (Artículo en Inglés)

Can you tell me how much money you've won or lost the last 10 times
you bet the horses?

Come on be honest. I'm talking to the penny. Can you really tell me?
Chances are you cannot.

hugo roca - that's exactly what the racetracks want. They want you to
walk into the track wired and looking for a big score. Come again
and again and have no idea of how much money you've bet - won or
lost for that matter.

But I'll bet my back teeth you know EXACTLY how much you get in
your paycheck every week. I'll bet you know exactly how much you
pay for your car. Or exactly how much you pay for rent or a mortgage.

Then why oh why aren't you keeping track of your horse racing bets?
hugo roca, by making this one little change in your wagering habits -
you can save literally THOUSANDS of DOLLARS.

All you need is a 79 cents spiral bound notebook and a pen. Every
time you walk into the OTB or even play online. You should write
down every bet you make and the results.

Here's what you can write across the top of each page:

DATE     TRACK    BET AMOUNT    $WON/LOST      TOTAL PROFIT/LOSS

Then use the lined paper to fill it in. It will only take a few
minutes, if that. Then when you get home you can make a tally of
how you did.

hugo roca, I cannot say this enough. Make this one simple change and you
will put yourself MILES ahead of the person who keeps losing and
losing and losing.

Zenyatta, oficialmente RETIRADA A LA CRIA

Zenyatta has been officially retired and her new home beginning next month will be Lane's End Farm near Versailles, Ky., the farm announced on Wednesday.

Zenyatta, whose 19-race unbeaten streak ended with a second-place finish by a head to Blame in the Breeders' Cup Classic at Churchill Downs on Nov. 6, is expected to be flown to Kentucky in early December, trainer John Shirreffs said on Wednesday.

The wildly popular 6-year-old Zenyatta has been based at Shirreffs's barn at Hollywood Park since Nov. 7 and will remain with him through November.

Wednesday's announcement by Lane's End ends speculation that Zenyatta would stay in training for a 2011 campaign, although Shirreffs had said since the Breeders' Cup that there were no plans to race her. No breeding plans have been finalized, he said.

The top stallion at Lane's End is A.P. Indy, who commands a $150,000 fee.

TEN GOLDEN RULES OF SUCCESSFUL BETTING. PARTE 2.

Ten golden rules of successful

betting

Part 2

6.  Bet only in situations where you think you have an edge.

If everyone else knows what you know then you can be sure the prices for
your "sure bet" will be at their lowest.  You may make a modest profit this
time but betting this way over the longer period will never bring you a consistent profit.
Look for horse races or other bets where you think the odds on offer are more than
they should be for the true likelihood of winning - call these "Value Horses"
- and you'll have profits to be proud of over the longer term.

7.  Don't let strange results throw you.

As I said in part 1, there is no such thing as a certainty.  So you need to make
sure you are not thrown by turnarounds you were not expecting. If you are
following a really good race horse that gives you great expectations and he
meets an unexpected defeat, don't let that one event put you off backing him
in the future.  Week in week out, favourites that have been beaten last time
out come home on their next outing.  It infuriates punters, but they only have
themselves to blame.  Take time to analyse an unexpected defeat and you
may well see that a good opportunity is still just around the corner whilst the
less wise majority have given up on him.

8.  Look for situations where others are betting emotionally.

I said in part one that you shouldn't bet with emotion.  However, there are
opportunities when you can see that others are doing exactly that.

In times when everyone is looking for instant gratification there are plenty
of times where punters are too easily deceived by a single good performance.
Often the press will start writing up the chances of a two year old racehorse
for the following year's Derby or Guineas after only one or two good
performances.  So punters will then start backing ante-post on emotion only.
On race day however, you may well find better value with other runners.
On soccer, London teams are often at shorter prices than the should be
simply because so many of the country's fans live in the capital and will
emotionally back their home sides.  You can profit from the folly of others.

9.  Plot a strategy

Get a strategy and stick to it.  Don't bet on whims.  That doesn't mean
you should be inflexible but do bet in a structured way.
If you place small bets for fun on weekdays then at least try to take your
weekend bets as a serious business with heavier wagers.  Better still 'though,
cut out the "fun" bets altogether.  Ultimately there's far more fun in consistently
winning than haphazardly losing.

10.  Enjoy your betting

To put it another way - just know when to STOP.  Keep a check on
yourself and always try to be honest if you ever feel that betting is
running away with you.  A long losing run tells you you should change
your system.  If you've followed the other rules 'though you won't gave
got into a situation where you are painfully losing money.  Be prepared
to stop and take stock.  Betting should be a pleasure - but not an
adrenaline rush.  If you ever feel you need help to get back in control,
take it sooner or later.  Gamblers anonymous.

Horse Racing Systems

Horse Racing Systems

Ten golden rules of successful betting

Part 1

Rather than just give you weekly systems to bet with blindly I want to pass on knowledge I've gathered from experienced punters to make their betting more successful.  Here are ten rules that will put more money in your pocket and keep it out of the hands of the bookies.  Part II tomorrow.

1)  Never bet more than you can afford to lose.

That should be blindingly obvious - but sadly too many amateur punters just take a risk, hoping that this one will be the big win they need.  The only way to stand a chance of winning over the long term is to have a consistent plan and to use a dedicated betting bank that contains no more money than you would be prepared to lose entirely in the worst of circumstances.

Once you start staking amounts you can't afford to lose your judgement will inevitably be affected.  Also, there's no thrill in putting your financeal future, or even your family's financial future on the line.

Decide on the maximum wager you feel comfortable with.  It doesn't mean you have to be happy to lose it.  Just that you can afford to lose it if the worst should happen.  Otherwise your betting will go nowhere.

2)  Remember there are no certainties.

If you study probability you will learn that absolutely NOTHING is impossible.  No matter how big a cert something looks, never bet your last penny on it.  Scientists only talk in probabilities.  It is regarded as highly unlikely that the moon will crash into the earth tomorrow - but it is not impossible.  The odds of winning the UK national lottery are 14,000,000 to one - but almost every week someone wins it.  However much you may feel you are on to "a good thing", only ever commit a small proportion of your available funds to it.  When things go wrong - as sometimes they WILL then you will live to fight another day.

3)  Be flexible in your approach

There is more than one way to win in betting.  An approach that works for one punter may not work for another.  Experiment to find the approaches that work for your betting and then spend enough time with them to let them work over time.  At the same time, however, do not close you mind to other possibilities.  There are many approaches you can study to back, lay, trade, arbitrage, bet in running, use software to enhance trading or staking.  Among the free systems we'll send you from freehorseracingsystems.com you may well find two or more methods that, when combined together, give you the magic edge.

4)  Keep a record of your bets

Keeping records is ESSENTIAL.  You can start to build up a picture of the bets that work for you and those that don't.  Without keeping records you are shooting in the dark.  Of course it's tough to have to write down those painful losing bets when you'd prefer to forget them, but if you want to make a long-term success of betting you need a record of your failures as well as your successes.  If you can use a spreadsheet such as Microsoft Excel or similar then that can help you to easily analyse profitable statistics.  If not then at the very least a dedicated paper notebook should be there to do the job.

5)  Don't bet on emotion

Betting on situations when you have an emotional envolvement is to be avoided at all costs.  It should be obvious, but never bet on your favourite soccer team just because you are desperate to see them win.  Your bets should be guided by the VALUE that you can get from a win.  Not just what you think is the likelihood of a win.  The most successful punters have no emotional involvement in the outcome of a sport.  If you want to watch a race or a match for the enjoyment of the game then do that without betting on it.  It also means you won't have the possibility of a double disappointment if your favourite team loses and you also lose a bet.

WHAT IS A HANDICAP RACE?

A Handicap race is a horse race where horses carry different allocated weights. A better horse will carry a heavier weight in order to make the race more fair. This allows for more skill in betting. Although most handicap races are not for the very best horses, this is not true in all cases, and some of the biggest races in the world are handicaps, such as the Grand NationalMelbourne Cup. In the United States, over 30 handicap races are classified as Grade I, the top level of the North American grading system.

Handicap races are also common in clubs which encourage all levels of participants such as a swimming club or in cycling races as well. All the participants are clocked in a time trial before the races, known as the handicap. In the race itself, the participants don't start at go, but the starts are staggered based on the handicaps. The slowest swimmer/cyclist starts the earliest and the fastest starts the latest, making the end of the race really close. An ideal handicap race is one in which all participants finish at the same time. The one to win is the person that beats his/her own time.

MAKING MONEY FROM HORSE RACING

Do you like the idea of making real money from Horse Racing every month?

Have you wondered why professional backers make money all the time, but you find it really hard going, to turn in a profit?

Lets just look at the same old silly mistakes many punters make time and time again

-----------------------------

The Bookies Win Every Time
-----------------------------

Have you ever seen a poor bookmaker?

Hardly!

Why?

Because there are any number of thousands of "punters" eager to empty their wallets into the bookmakers hands, time after time

Now of course there is a great thrill of the horse racing game

To see you horse come home first is a great thrill

But backing a winner - at any price - is a sure way to lose overall

This is one of biggest mistakes many punters make - and they never learn

---------------------

Why Do People Lose?
---------------------

The reason most backers lose is very simple

1. They back too many selections

2. They back at too short prices

Lets look at the first one:

==> Too Many Selections

This is an old favourite that keeps the bookmakers in business

The more bets you make the more bets you will lose - its really quite simple

The number of solid bets that are worth taking on is actually quite small - maybe as low as 5% or less

To begin with we know from statistics that alot more favourites win in non handicap races, than in handicap races

So if you strike out all the handicaps, your winning percentage will increase automatically

However around 60% of the races on the card are handicaps - sometimes more

So straight away we are getting fewer and fewer races to work with

At some meetings you might only get two non handicap races to work with

-------------------------

Poor Value Favourites
-------------------------

Many favourites are actually poor value animals

Take a simple example - Maiden Races

A maiden race means that none of the horses have ever won a race

So therefore any favourite in a maiden race, has to be a very poor betting opportunity

Such a favourite is merely the least worst of all the horses taking part

Essentially what we are saying is that all the horses are pretty hopeless, but one of them has to win - virtually by default

Therefore favourites in maidens are generally not a very good proposition

----------------------

The Second Mistake
----------------------

Backing at too short prices

The second most common mistake of punters that lose overall, is backing horses at prices that are too short

As a general rule of thumb, anything less than 13/8 is definately too short

There are exceptions to this of course, but 13/8 is a reasonable minimum to deal with

Now step one in being successful is picking the right races

As I have already indicated statistics show that favourites win more often than any other betting placement, and favourites in non handicaps win more often than handicaps

So this means that we should concentrate on VALUE selections i.e. 13/8 or bigger in non handicap races, where the horse is favourite

There are a few other factors to take account of as well, such as data from the previous race, prize money, class of race, weight carried etc

However, if you followed a simple strategy of limiting yourself to these races, and backing only favourites that had reasonable form behind them, then your betting returns would almost certainly improve

------------------------------
----------
How To Find The Best Bets Of The Day
------------------------------
----------

Finding the best bets of the day is very important, but can be very time consuming if you havent got a lot of past data to go on

What I do is develop horse racing selections based on systems that have stood the test of time, and make a level stakes profit over at least a year

Now the key to being successful is to bet sparingly - this means just a few bets a month, instead of several bets every day

Very frequently I only place a couple of bets a month, but with high stakes i.e. 1,000 or more. This is a stategy that can reap dividends

In other words wait for the right races to come along, and then get in big, and pocket the winnings
